Ireland Journal sketch of Doolin, Co. Clare

This is one of the finer sketches from the trip. My sister and I were sitting opposite O'Connors's pub at a picnic table. The sweet smell of scones baking was in the air (this was just after breakfast). O'Connor's is the place for delicious food, Murphy's stout and the best traditional Irish music you're likely to hear anywhere!

Travel sketches from my Ireland journal

These are sketches from the trip home. My favorite is the mafia guy, crustacean-between-two-rocks like in his commuter jet seat.

Magnolia: a watercolor painting

Small watercolor painting done as a birthday gift for a friend. Painted from an original photograph I took last spring.

Chair portrait #2.

After discovering the chair portrait I had just finished to be too large, I sighed, made tea and set about making another. This went fairly quickly as most of conceptual work was done. I began with a piece of linoleum smaller than the space the image was to occupy, so as to avoid the previously mentioned problem. Also, I decided to use the opportunity to make a two color reduction block.

Portrait of a chair printed from a piece of the chair.

This image was engraved in a piece of wood taken from the very chair it portrays. It was intended to be part of this year's Community Warehouse Chair Affair project, however, I made the image a tad too big for the space it had to fit in.

Voice. Edition of 10

Recently printed from a block of 4"x6" bass wood I carved a while back. Note: the figure is not talking on a cell phone.

'1940's' A zinc etching and chine colle print (#12/20)

My first zinc etching and first time working with chine colle (the process of pasting other colors of paper to the print during the printing process). Image taken from c.1940 German propaganda photo. I recommend taking the time to look at more closely, by simply clicking on the image. Also, reference the preliminary sketch posted a little bellow.
